STARSTRUCK SAFETY & PRECAUTIONS (Covid-19 as of September/2021)

Dear Starstruck Family Members,

This last year has been a whirlwind of challenges for all of us due to Covid-19 and the wide reaching and devastating effects, both in relation to health, school, finances, and emotional well-being.

As the state and local health officials have allowed facilities and businesses to commence business with some added guidelines,  this process may take place as long as the studio and our families adhere to several guidelines from the Utah Department of Health. As valued members of our dance family, we have implemented the following rules as we proceed in keeping the Studio open.  We will continue to monitor and implement the local, state, and federal recommendations as they are announced and make changes, as necessary.  We will take each week, or day to day, into consideration as it approaches and keep you updated on what is happening.  We will be updating through Facebook and through email.  We take pride in our facility and how it operates and would like to highlight the policies we have in place at the Studio to help our dance families stay healthy and safe.

Please read these and let us know if you have any concerns.  The new guidelines are to keep our teachers, staff and our students and families as safe as possible and to help minimize the spread of the coronavirus.

Prevention Steps in the Studio :

If you have any flu like symptoms, or anyone in your home has been diagnosed with Covid-19, Do Not Come Into the studio unless you have been cleared by a physician or received a NEGATIVE test result and have gone the requisite 14 day quarantine period.  You may continue online Virtual classes as you feel up to it – and we will resume LIVE classes with you a little into the future.

Teachers/Staff may choose to wear face coverings if they so desire;  however, it is not requisite.  Students 3 and over are not required to wear face coverings and are welcome to wear them if they so choose.  Mask breaks will be given periodically throughout your class time(s).

ENTRY/DROP OFF :  Students are permitted to enter the building from the MAIN FRONT DOORS.   Once your student is dropped off, they will be ushered immediately into the bathroom to wash their hands. After that they will take their place in designated areas/classrooms with their group until everyone has arrived and washed up.

No street shoes will be allowed in the dance rooms, or tumbling rooms.  Street shoes MUST be left in the back cubbies individually.  Cubbies will be cleaned/sanitized after each use. Dancers may bring one small bag containing ONLY their dance shoes to be worn in classrooms and their own personal water bottle.

PARENT WAITING ROOM IS OPEN with LIMITATIONS :  We are trying to cut back on social togetherness. We feel limiting our waiting room will eliminate group gatherings as well as contaminating many areas in the Studio.  Waiting Room is Limited to eight (8) people ONLY.  If it is full, please wait outside until there is an available opening for you to enter the studio.

Water fountain - our water fountain is AVAILABLE.  Please ONLY use the water fountain to refill your personal water bottles.  DO NOT DRINK directly from the fountain.  Please make sure your child brings their own non-spillable container that has their name on it.  Starstruck will not be responsible for lost or misplaced water bottles.  Label them properly and we will do our best to return them to you.

Surface Cleaning: Every hour we will be wiping down frequently touched surfaces and equipment with disinfectant cleaner. Every evening everything is wiped down (this is usual practice for us!) Door knobs, handles, light switches, floors etc.

Deep Cleaning: The Studio will be deep cleaned at least twice per week.

Sneezes and Coughs: We are encouraging dancers to cough and sneeze into their shirt or arms, not in their hands. If your child has either of these symptoms, we are asking them to stay home.

Staff: Only healthy staff members (without symptoms) will be allowed to teach in the Studio.

Pick-up - Since the waiting room is limited and we cannot congregate, we ask that you all make a single file line up to the FRONT WEST DOOR in the marked spots on the sidewalk where your child will be stationed. Each child will be dismissed individually (sort of like at recital pickup) as each parent comes to the door. The line may be long on certain days so please be patient, this is all for the health and safety of your children. As long as everyone is there on time this will move very quickly. All students will be in their designated spots awaiting your arrival.

Sanitizer: We currently have hand sanitizer in each room, hallway, and front desk. Students will be asked to use it frequently. If you’d prefer to bring your own, students are permitted to bring it in their dance bag. Our sanitizer does contain at least 62% alcohol which is currently the state recommendation.  New Hand Sanitizing Stations have also been installed outside each studio classroom door.

How you can help:

● Do not bring your child to class if they are coughing, sneezing, have a fever, stomach ache, body aches, sore throat, chest congestion, diarrhea, vomiting, or any other illness.

● Do not bring your child to class if a family member is ill with any of the above symptoms

● Don’t bring toys from home.

● Don’t break any formal quarantine/government restrictions.

● Encourage and remind your child to cough and sneeze into their arm not in their hand.

● Alert us if your child does have COVID-19 and has been to the studio within the last 14 days so we can contact their peers.

At this time Starstruck Dance & Tumbling will remain open with these restrictions until directed otherwise. Each family is encouraged to make their own decision about coming to the studio. Please do what you feel comfortable with and what makes the most sense for you and your family. Your health and safety are most important to us!!

We have these extreme measures to ensure your safety and the safety of your children.  With that said, there is still a risk in coming to the studio or to be out and about in general.  We consider that you understand and accept these inherent risks and are giving your consent when you or your child come in for these appointments/classes.

If you feel more comfortable scheduling out a little further, we will be happy to accommodate you.  Starstruck will continue to make available (upon request) LIVE Virtual classes AT THE SAME TIME as the original IN CLASS time.  Simply contact Mrs. Brandy and LOG IN details can be sent to you that will allow you to participate in your Virtual Class from home. You can rest assured that we will still accomplish the excellent care that you have come to trust us to do.

The well-being of our students and families is a top priority! Please know that we are here to address any concerns or issues and are happy to hear from you on additional ways we can keep our community healthy!

Sincerely,
Starstruck Dance & Tumbling
